On Sunday, 13th October 2002 the Hämeenlinna situated Kattila Cat Shelter celebrated a kitty birthday. The event was open for all and it was advertised that there would also be ferrets with their owners.

That's were the Ferret Club stepped in. We were invited to attend the event and we were more than happy to help out. We arrived early and started to set up our stall. There was enough room for a few posters and basic ferret equipment. When the clock struck 11 a.m. we were ready.

We were positioned next to the front door so when the first people arrived, they naturally gathered around us to admire our cute little fuzzballs. Everyone had a question and was eager to chat with us. We were lucky to have plenty of us there to answer all the queries; Heidi and Peter, Johanna and her father Ilkka, Sonja, Sami, and Miiariitta. Our ferrets put in a hard day's work, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Satisfaction was the word of the day as tired ferrets and owners alike packed up all the stuff at 2 o'clock. The manager of the cat shelter came to thank us personally for helping out. We had managed to pull in a record-breaking amount of people, much more than in previous years. That was thank you enough for us, we had done our part in helping all the little kitty-cats. We rounded up our team, gathered everything into our cars and headed home.
